I had two vehicles 'flash' in front of me between Bulls and Taihape, the really courious thing was the vehicle, it had red and blue lights on top.

Points to the HP man, goes someway to restoring ones faith.

Do it myself quite a lot when in the 'work' car - priceless the sheepish look on the oncoming drivers face as they go past!!! ,

Well, that's just dum-diddly dandy Mr Dog. But have you considered that drivers flash for hazards other than a mobile cash register up ahead, And if your brand of highway socialism catches on, people will ignore the flashers. Just back in July, a car flashed me to warn me of a biker down around a blind corner on SH16.
Keep up the good work though, if you stop all the speeding you'll save about 30 lives all over NZ.

Have you ever considered that if drivers flashed ONLY when there WAS a hazard (bike down etc) people WOULD slow down instead of glancing at their speedo and thinking "I'm only doing 105, no need to slow down for the cop" and carrying on around the next bend into whatever awaits?

Just my thoughts as I flash my way merrily around the country

Call me old fashioned, but - if I'm flashed, I immediately go on to full alert for ANY hazard ahead - be it speed trap, patrol car (most common), road incident or whatever! Just sems like common sense to me.

I knew I'd come across your bizarre form of logic before but I'd always thought he was a fictional character. You've blown your cover Ned.

    Err, nevermind
ALl my vehicles always have wof and warrent, my brother crashed one of my old bikes so was riding my brothers one day, no wof and no warrent, and i get pulled over, problem being i didn't have a liecence at the time either, this was a good 10 years ago, 28 days to get them all so i did no fine woo hoo.

If ya can't afford to keep vehicle above wof standard you shouldn't be riding/driving it.

Hey Scumdog - you really were born for your job, weren't you.

Your signature "Dya know how fast you were going? No? - that means I can write any speed I want on the ticket!" Really says it all........

What other vocation would give you so much power?

Ah yes! you have spotted one the positive sides of my job, you can also include that I can ride/drive as fast as I want without getting a ticket, don't need a w.o.f. on my vehicles, can drive drunk without worry etc. etc.....

Of course the downside is that I get pelted with abuse and empty bottles when I arrive at a motorbike rally!

    Yeah right!!!

You are obviously trolling and/or have never met me eh?

goodness me, haven't seen a good bottling in a while

i take flashing seriouly, when you live in the agri jungle like myself you have to use the flash is a warning for anything like loose/crazed animals on a bender or just a plain, ordinary 2 1/2 lane wide tractor.
the funny thing no one really seams to care about the fuzz... well not cameras anyway. but for what is worth i always flash, those jokers have enough help on thier sides to tax us.
yeah... sorry bro, i thought that ment miles 'n hour.
