    Question Triple Clamp???

Hey All... not sure where I should post this... just wanted to know if anyone could help me out with some advice...

Does anyone know where I can get a triple clamp that will fit the ZXR250C?

I've been told they are bike specific, but I have no idea where to start looking and what sort of price I should expect...

    Any suggestions or advice?

    thanks in advance

You might want to check that if you want to put tube type bars on the ZXR. The casting in the clamp where the bar clamps would go is too thin for drilling though and making a solid bar mount.
I've seen some ways around this and I recommend you contact Drew as he has done something similar for his stunter that seems to work fine.

    Hope this helps.

aye? Sorry you confused me... I'm not planning on drilling anything...

Doesn't a triple clamp just clamp on?

    *is easily confused*

Sorry I thought your said you wanted to use Renthals and I assumed you mean tube type handlebars as opposed to the standard ZXR clipons that fit under the top triple clamp. If I assumed right the ZXR clamp would have to be modified to accept the clamp arrangmet to holp the bars.

Heres a few thousand words worth of pictures
Stock(ish) ZXR250 in 1 and 2 like what you have now????, CB250RS with tube type handlebars 3 and 4. what you're tyring to achieve?????? kinda?

Forgive me If I've got you wrong but If it helps the all good aye!

Yeah thats sort of what I'm looking for... I thought I could just buy a triple clamp and put it on... didn't think it was going to be a huge mission...

It doesn't have to be a mission, its just not a bolt on job. It would be okay if there was a ZXR250 naked that used the same forks etc because that would be a bolt on job, but nooo you ain't that lucky this time, at least as far as I know.

Have a look at Drews FZR in http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...ad.php?t=55573 because he did what it sounds like you want to do.

The Balius uses tube bars(from memory) has conventional forks, not the tree trunk USD's like our cool bikes use. So no good, but good thinking!

Hey what about I take a look at my one as I'd thought about using the ZXR as a stunter because I'm going to kill my SV pretty quick and I love that bike.
I love my ZX(140RC2)R but I'm not so precious about it.
I'll draw up a plan to modify the clamp and pass it on to you if it works.
You'll just have to buy some bits and you'll be away!

Like this? Ooooh now your jelous of a Hyosung. Don't worry. Your secrets safe with me!

But really. If you can find one of those people who seem to know parts #'s from memory and know what fits with what you'd be looking for something with the bolts holes to accept the top clamps (or one with them there already) that has the same tube sizes and everything as your current ones. Lots to take into account, offset to the head bearings etc but not impossible, infact quite likely that something has used the same geometry etc?
