    "Torps" is a derivation of "Turps" (NZ slang for booze), which sprots seem to consume in great quantities whenever possible. Perhaps to numb the pain while riding one.

    I hope you lot all get red infractions for taking the thread off topic :P:P

    Sprot is short for sprout, which most people relate to brussel sprout, the muscles from Brussels is Jean-Claude Van Damme, who is short and stocky in nature but all tone and can pack a punch. A bit like a sports bike, really
