Coming round a bend on the motorway when I'm faced with a row of red lights. Both lanes of traffic came to a complete stop right in front of me. Got onto both brakes as fast as I could. Slowing down quite fast when i noticed my rear was sliding off to the side a bit. Thats when it hit me, I locked my rear.
There was no tire squeal, no indication at all until i felt the rear go sideways. What amazed me is just how easy it was to control the bike with the rear locked. (Must be my mountain biking experience). I didn't even bother releasing it till i got to a complete stop. So yeah, from about 120 to 0 with a locked rear.
The good things:
Got to practice emergency breaking and see how fast I can really stop.
I stopped about 20 meters earlier then I thought I would
Bad:
Looks like the rear wheel nut wasn't tightened all the way so it moved 2 notches on the right so my bike was pulling to the right for the rest of the trip. (Got it re-aligned at TSS today, free of charge)
