How easy is making a bike road legal? Could it be done with a CR/KX500? Would be dead keen on one of them

Some are easier than others.....with all the right paper work....easy. with no paperwork (MX bike)..not so easy.........(my advice - sometimes you have to think outside the box)

My CRF was a sweet road reg'd motard

What paperwork do you need? What are the costs?

My dad tried getting a TF185 project bike of his back on the road. It had been made road legal in the past, but the LTNZ said it could never be put back onto the road for some reason. LTNZ are very cagey

That black one did look slightly better than the one im after which he hasn't relisted. The one i have my eye on is actually slightly race tuned compared to the black one. However I want to start with a clean slate for customising the bike so i'm going with the track setup one for the meantime, that way I can learn to ride it properly before unleashing it, and myself, onto the open roads.

    But it's black!

Of course, that's what lured me into getting my VFR over the others... cough

I'm pretty keen to get a racer. Each year I think 'Ok, I've got to race at Wanganui next time'. A supermoto would be even better since they have a dirt section, which most of the riders take pretty slowly so I should be capable enough to do it myself, hopefully.

Sounds familiar, except I think that at Paeroa.

The VFR has broken down again and I'm pretty keen to tear the fucker to shreds. Reckon motocross tripple clamps with forks and a swingarm would fit with little modification? Would be awesome to keep the single sided swingarm and just replace the shock with an MX one but that'd probably look ridiculous.

time to bump this thread up again, heres some BIG thumpers, DR800s. The last 2 pics are of a special bike that competes in the Greek SM championship, it's a YZ chassis with the DR-BIG engine squeezed in! Havn't got any more pics unfortunately.
