"...you meet the weirdest people riding a Guzzi !!..."
Awesome beasts![]()
Why does it smoke so much?
The rotor was internally cooled - air was drawn through by a (I think) exhaust vacuum thing. Obviously it picked up a bit of oil on the way. One of the reasons they couldn't be a successful road motor (in that format, anyway)
Rob Nesbitt at Classic Cycles in Upper Hutt was trained at the factory on these things
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.
those cheap ass bitches can do anything with ductape.

Wow, way cool!
A little more peppy than the Suzuki RE5![]()
Maybe just unburnt fuel skipping straight through the exhaust port due to overlap with intake? Doesn't seem to smoke once revving and they sound a lot like a bridge-port mazda rotang when they idle.
Love the sound of a rotary. Love the revvy nature of them too. Think that's why I've preferred IL4's to vtwins. Rotary bike.. Well that'd be heaven (apart from the fuel bills and premixing)
EDIT: Just found this wondering if anyone had managed to put a 12a in a bike.. http://thekneeslider.com/archives/20...ne-motorcycle/
They're a pretty "real" bike Paul. I'm sure your just having a little poke but man, there's lots of reasons rotaries are not so suited to cars and the same reasons make them great for bikes. Would be WWAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRPPP to lightspeed into the sunset!
