    Thanks

Back to the original question huh.
Of the two bikes you've named,I would take the Bonnie.
It would be the better all rounder.
An then the 650,It's supposed to handle better than it's Jap counterparts an with around 100 HP it's never gonn'a be lacking in the real world.
As for Dukes,I had an 83 SD900,last of the real ones
It was a very good bike in a lot of ways, but it did require more than it's fair share of shop time.I have two mates that own later model Dukes, an they don't have any undue problems with em'.
They cane the guts out of them as well.
The way things stand with me at the mo' I hope to buy a Bonnie as my next road bike so I could be a little biased.

    specs for a 94 600SS
    specs for CBR400RR
    53 hp vs your CBR400RR's 59hp?
Think you miss the point, you had a dream to own a Ducati, clearly it didnt seem to matter what Ducati you got, so long as it was a Ducati, good for you.
But if I had a dream to own a Yamaha, I wouldnt be boasting in every post about the mighty XJ550 I had just bought and how Yamahas were so great.

wouldve been great if that cbr wasnt 15 years old and stuffed...
You're right... i give up.... can we lay this to rest now.... I'm happy.. dont care what other people think, as I've said before.... I have my Duc... lets move on!
again you are right... i wouldnt boast about my yammie unless i was proud of it!
    say no more... I'm happy....
[edit] I'm not made of money so i got what i could afford and that made me happy... one day i might be able to buy a 999R, but until then I have realised a dream and can die tomorrow knowing I had a dream and it came true.... better than having a cbr and wanting before I die... peace!

[edit again] I'm sorry for extolling(sp) the virtues of a bike I have owned for a tad over a week... bugga... will never do that again

Sure mate, sorry to bag on you!
Hey we both got 1997 600's , wanna race ?
anyway, hope you enjoy the Duc experience
Thought your price was kinda high, thats all, saw a tri colour 851 for about $12K recently....and a 94 600SS on trademe for $5500
Or this for an extra $1K you could get a 748S
    748S Duc $10500
