Basically, if the mods are not doing an effective or impartial job, it would be better that they did absolutely nothing at all and just let the shit fights go on.

What would happen is that most members would put the worst offenders on ignore after pointing out what tossers they are.

I prefer a different approach: Truly IMPARTIAL moderators who do a VISIBLE and job of keeping the board civil. I prefer NOT to censor any persons post as even the most ignorant abusers occasionally post something worth reading.

'Twas for these and other reasons that Mr Q.Evil adopted a different system. He has obtained an Antiquated Invigilator. I know not where from (Ebay probably, it's amazing what you find there), but he has obtained one.

It is several hundred years old, takes no part at all in debate or posting, but simply monitors posts for adherence to a limited set of simple rules.

It seems to work quite well, so long as members do not make posts containing obscure foreign words in even more obscure languages which may or may not be obscene . That confuses it.

Oh, nothing wrong with anybody having an opinion - it's just that when it gets rammed down peoples throats with both hands that it gets a tad annoying..

My opinion of this thread? - it's like a place I visit to see who the annoying people are who want to voice opinions on how a site should be run and how those in charge are ruining the site for everybody (OK, for THEM to be precise)

But at the end of the day all on this thread (myself included) are just 'yelling to hear our head roar', - achieving nothing.
