Question please help ENGLISH GUY with SUZUKI FXR!

    Hello All,

I live in London and have a Suzuki FXR125, almost identical to the FXR150 but with different engine i think. Thing is im one of the only people in england to have this bike, and cant get parts. I really need a new front fairing and probably other bits in the future, but there is nowhere in england i can get these parts. Does anyone know where i could get stuff from in NZ, and get it sent over? Or does anyone have a FXR fairing they would ship? or would anyone be interested in buying one for me and sending it over? If so i could pay well for the help!!

Please help! i love this bike and dont want to get rid of it because i cant get parts!

    Tim

They were made in malaysia so it should be cheapest there, I will PM you the email address of someone in malaysia that has a FXR150 and speaks english. You will need to look up shipping from Malaysia to England. DHL (www.dhl.com) are worldwide but only some of their countries have price calclators.

    expensive fairing+expensive shipping=??

Yeah, but The Randomness will require many bits from that to refurbish his WheelieMachine.
    ... and that's what I think.

Google turns up nothing meaningful on 'FXR125'. Are you entirely sure it's not an FX125?

That's a scooter. I've seen them here, and I don't think it'd be very interchangeable with the Malaysian FXR150 wot is NOT a scooter, apart from any common Suzuki part-bin bits.

[Edit: Although I should note that the Suzuki 'FX/FXR' model designations seem to be rather interchangeable; my user manual says 'FX150' on the front. :spudwhat:]

I believe there was actually a FX125 that looked like ours. I think I've seen a manual on it somewhere on the web.

    Aha!

Bet you it'll be the Malaysian FXR150, with an FX125 four-stroke single transplanted from the scooter so that it can be ridden on a UK learner license with the 125cc restriction.

It's entirely probable that you'll need to get engine parts from the scooter, and frame, suspension, control and fairing parts from the not-scooter.

I'm not sure about email, but a quick after-hours phone call from your end will catch these guys during their work day, and you can ask if further contact via email is possible. They'll be sure to know about the FX125 and FXR150, although you might have to explain a little about your own, which is presumably a UK-specific hybrid.

The guy who runs this place is a good chap, I'm sure he'll be happy to help you out.

Oh yes, and for new Suzuki parts, any of the Auckland Suzuki dealers should be able to tell you what the best way will be for you to get your sticky fingers on shiny new FXR bits straight from the factory (they're not cheap, though).

    Try:

    Colemans Suzuki
Corner Karangahape Rd & Gundry St
    Newton
    Auckland

    and

    Holeshot Motorcycles
65 Barry's Point Rd (yes, they're in the same building as Atomic Wreckers)

Yes, surface mail will be your only sensible option, I'm afraid.

Couriers are a rort - postage is considerably cheaper. Let us know if you need someone to do some running arougn or look for/ pick up stuff.
Atomic will post overseas, and I imagine most of th eother places will as well.
