While one person doing that will not change opninans, we need to be pro active. Letting cars into the traffic flow, a nice wave to cops, kids smiles when the helmet is off.

I have found that in my short time of riding the local milk tanker drivers know my bike, and let me past as i let them into the traffic flow

Yepper bikers are human, and make mistakes, they are dicks too, I came close to cleaning one up not so long ago, and I knew where he was, right in front of me! He still opted to turn left, from the far right of the lane and while indicating he was turning right! I went to his left as he was slowing down and indicating, at the last moment he shot right in front of me! Scared the shit out of me, bet he never ever realised, it was so close i never got my hand to the horn!

This in a 50kph area, thank God, if it had been any faster I would have driven over top of him, i am sure it would have been my fault too as I drive a cage!

Hardly surprising how many car drivers are pretty anti biker when shit like this happens. All of my workmates hate motorbikes and think they're pests - thinking like this is why we don't get offered as much courtesy as we'd like.

I was the sounding block for some irate motorists near Kawhia over the weekend. Seems a group of sportsbikes carved up a line of traffic doing about 140ish.
The comment from a truckie was sobering.
"You bikers need to pull ya fucking heads in".
He then went on to say..."If I was in the truck, I would of moved wide, and squashed the little fuckers"!
Kanny heard the whole conversation. I bit my tounque, as it wasn't the time/place to get into a argument. (public service station).
Go fast people, but be considerate.

On Sunday I did my part for cage/sprotsbike/crusier relations.

I stopped in the cage for a broken down Harley! Had to laugh when he said something like "yeah it's a Harley.. you get this sorta shit".

They had someone on the way with a trailer so off I toddled.

So yeah.. Even if none of the buggers wave back I'll still see if there's anything I can do.

Wasn't me neither, went to Manaia and back to Hawera, longest ride the wife been on the back, she even seemed relaxed, passed a car as well, got up to 110km max, mostly 90-100km.

Met a few cruisers going round the mountain, both directions too.

Some dickwads allright,I tend to forgive the odd minor incident but agree with you yours wasn't,could've been worse, and what with kids in your vehicle, doesn't bear thinking about.
