    FOR SALE: Suzuki SV650S K5

If you browse the internet you will soon find out how well regarded this bike is worldwide. It’s 645cc 90-degree V-twin engine has plenty of power right across the rev range, but the bike is still light and agile enough to be “flickable” around corners. Overall it’s a whole lot of fun. It’s also a head turner – I get plenty of people looking at it wherever it is parked.

There is no damage to speak of on the bike (only a few stone chips, etc). It has never been dropped. It has mostly been ridden for fun at the weekends, but also occasional commuting. It has always been garaged.

This bike started out life as a demonstrator at Wellington Motorcycles (WMC) and I bought it “new” from there with 2,000km on it in March 2006. (Although it is a 2005 model it was first registered in 2006 and I am it’s only owner.)

The bike has been serviced by WMC as per the manual every 6,000km, with the oil and filter also changed between services every 3,000km. It always starts first time, and I’ve never had any issues with it.

    Enhancements include:
    - Two Brothers M-2 exhaust (fitted by WMC)
    - SV1000S bellypan (fitted by WMC)
    - Evotech tail tidy
    - Oggy Knobbs crash protectors
    - Protective plastic around tank
    - Radiator grill

I still have the original rear guard and exhaust which are included in the sale if desired. The buyer will also get the owners manual, the tool kit, a spare key, and I’ll throw in my Titan disk lock.

At 13,500km I replaced the original tyres on the bike with a Metzeler Roadtec Z6 rear and Sportec M3 front, which after 7,000km I’m guessing are now about half way through their lifetime. Both still have wear left in them, especially the rear.

WOF expires March 08. Registration expires September 08. No money is owing on the bike.

I love this bike and I am only selling it because it’s time to move on to other things. I’m happy to wait for the right buyer to come along.

I’m not interested in swapping it for anything – sorry!

    Some more photos

The one showing the rev counter shows where the sun somehow melted it slightly - it still functions absolutely fine.

Common fault, I wouldn't let this put you off if you're considering buying it

    It's now on trademe...
    (link updated)

    GOING, GOING....

It's got a bid passed the reserve price, so it's as good as sold. This is your last chance to buy it - and you know you want to - just go to trademe and make a bigger bid!

    Merry Christmas!

    Smile Bye!

And just like that, it's gone. and

I take delivery of my new bike in Feb (see attached).
It'll be a few hp down on my old one.

So, this is where I disappear into thin air, not to be seen again on KB for quite some time. I've had a lot of fun and met some really great people, and that and them I shall miss. Bye!
