What do ya reckon's quicker?

what do ya reckon's quicker/ more reliable/better handling etc? A 1988 Suzuki GSX400R Slingshot (40,000 k), or a 1990 Kwaka ZXR400 (90,000)? Cheers for your thoughts!

ZXR400 anyday and under any conditions - with the same rider.

Forget compared to a Slingshot - compared to any bike a ZXR400 is a very nice handling bike. Love the twin headlight look of the model.

A 400 with 90,000kms? Why?

Just keep searching for another bike.

P.S: I realise you may not be interested in buying one, just playing trump cards......since you already own the Suzuki.

Mmmm, lets see: A 17 year old bike with 90,000 kms or a 19 year old bike with 40,000 kms.

Performance will depend on the rider and state of tune/maintenence of the bikes. Handling will be similar, depending on the experience/ability of the rider. Reliability will depend on the condition/maintenence/usage of the bikes.

There's not much in it. Quicker; Possibly the kwaka, but a better rider on the Suzuki will out perform. Reliability/cost of maintenence; Go for the Suzuki, but a better rider on the kwaka may keep costs down.

How good a rider are you, and what is you main use for this bike?

Save your money man, not worth getting a kwaka with that many kms and its not worth getting the slingshot full stop. If you want a decent 400, you can not go wrong with the zxr400, just get one with lower kms. I had a 1990 ZXR400 and I loved it.

no no, its a "i already have the one but rode the other briefly and loved it" kinda post! love my suzuki but have always wanted a kwaka, just intrested to hear other peoples thoughts

Im a decent rider I suppose, I ride my bike daily about 50km to work and around, and head out for 100+ km rides most weekends. Id want any bike I own to be up for it

yea me too, always loved the kawasaki's ay. thinking of looking for something newer than my '88. Got a pix of the suzuki under profile pictures
