    Hi Guys
I will be up in the Wanaka area (based in Albert Town) from tomorrow for about a week. So if you see a blue DR650 with number 78 on it thats me! Wave yell honk or otherwise let me know if you see me. Not sure of family commitments so can't plan too much in advance but will be up for a few tracks in the area.

Just thought I'd add some of my pics from our ride. If you are in CO and you want some great riding and great company, get in touch with Paul. He can show you some places very few have gone, and as he puts it, it's just magic. And if you want some practice on ruts, he can show you some ruts!

Thanks again Paul for a great ride

    Just a wee bit adventurous

I am back from central - didn't get as much riding as I had hoped. DOC in Wanaka were no help finding tracks but there are heaps of roads and unmarked tracks. There are plenty between Cromwell and Clyde and most easy going in dry conditions. Also found plenty of smaller tracks to practice the skills on around Wanaka. Saw a heap of adventure bikes but most set up for long distance with hard panniers and not covered in dust. Man was there DUST!!
Managed to stay upright when riding but crested a ridge - stopped to admire the view and put my foot in a hole and dropped the bike - wheels upslope on a steep bank. No way I could pick it up at that angle so had to drag it round before getting it upright again.
Still clear skys - hot hot temperatures - good tracks and great views.

Really enjoying this thread. Will be riding some of these roads/tracks in Feb, so its giving me alot of info.
Looks like the new TKC's will be going on the Scrambler.
Those low land tussock ranges look a hell of a lot like inland nth west Ozzy. (cept their spinifex grass is deadly to skin and tyres).
    Keep the info coming guys.

    riding this weekend

I know it's short notice, but I haven't had internet access for almost a week (deeep breath...), but I'll be doing some riding in CO this weekend and wanted to see if anyone was keen.

It's part of my much larger tour from Wanaka-Bluff-Cape Reigna-Wanaka that kicked off Sunday (I'll post a new thread with pics and reports soon.) Tomorrow I plan on riding from Roxburgh through to Ranfurly via Lake Onslow. Sorry, don't know the name of the road or pass. I plan on being in Roxburgh around 1pm. I know it's late to be starting, but I'd like to see some things around Dunedin first.

Sunday I'll be riding Dansey's Pass from Ranfurly over to Kurow and then through to Lake Tekapo or Fairlie (again, don't know the name of the road or pass.) Probably get started around 10am.

Like I said, I know it's short notice, but if anyone is keen I'd love to have the company. I'll be checking back once more tomorrow before 10am on here, but after that just send me a text. 027 711 9379

    Cheers
    Andrew
