    Riding with steel caps.

Finally got my rideing boots a week anda half ago (was useing my steel caps before then). One of my boots velcro kept coming open while riding.
Pissed me off. found out that the velcro on that side was on backwards provideing no grip because the little hooks were the wrongway round.
The shop has taken them back to either fix or get a new pair for me.
So i had my back up plan to wear my steel caps again till then.
    What a leson i learnt.
Changing your boots can damatically change the way your bike rides.
I kept going from first into neutral which is cool if you want to rev the fuck out of your bike.
My steel caps are about 1/2 inch thicker than my boots which total puts your foot in a whole new position.
Anyway has any body elase had this problem with there boots, now that i have stopped rambling.
If you cant fix it with a hammer, Its an electrical problem.

I wear my steel toed combat boots most of the time when I'm riding, and when I change to shoes I tend to hit a lot of false neutrals or miss gear changes.

Steel toe caps used to give me chilblains in winter - I used to warm them in front of the heater while I had my breakfast, and that seemed to cure it.Not a problem with a BMW.

    Love my steel caps.

I'd never take em off except the wife goes crook when I wear em to bed, But I reckon its cause she can't handle the kicking contest.

My work boots are easily the best riding boots I have ever worn. Get a good brand like Dingo Blue and you get supreme comfort and protection.

I have just got a pair of Steel Blue work boots and they are the best, most comfortable boots I have ever owned. Must talk the boss to getting me a new pair so I can break them in (on the bike).

Not supposed to use them as brakes by dragging them on the ground

I got me some of those hardley davidson steel caps, real comfy to ride + walking about but the lack of 'feel' took a bit of getting used to gear changes.

Nothing worse than a quick getaway at the lights & reving your nutz off in N-land instead of 2nd.
