I RIDE MY CBR250RR TO WORK AS WELL AS IN THE WEEKENDS, EVRERY WEEKEND.

SEEMS OK TO ME, IF U ONLY RIDE IT IN THE WEEKENDS CHANCES ARE YOUR A R.U.B, AND HOW ARE YOU GOING TO BE AT THE LIGHTS WITH A HIGH POWERD CAR AND THEN GIVE THEM THE LEARN IF YOU DONT RIDE AROUND TOWN ON IT?

    tHINK ABOUT IT.
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot

But yes the FZ is easy to ride, except when you forget how much it weighs.
The motor makes the whole bike very deceptive, when the power goes, momentum takes over (like corners)......my balls get very small.
The bars are soooooo wide (compared to my CBR) that corner carving is almost effortless with counter-steering being a little push on the bars. Weird feeling not having to move the body much going through corners though.

I've used every bike I've had to commute on, most of them sports bikes, and it's fine. The wear and tear issue is a mute point I think, I cant speak for the Italian bikes with dry clutches and stuff, but any Jap bike will take it in stride. It comes down to what bike you really like, and can feel comfortable on. If it fits those criteria just buy it FFS.

The "What should I buy?" threads are a tad pointless I've always thought, but I suppose they do provide some new ideas to consider.

    zx14

This is a sports Tourer, as opposed to the ZX10 we had which was termed a hypersports bike.
Neither are much good around town 50ks etc, mind you we are tuttoo's (spl) with our bikes which changes the way the engine behaves. The 14 was purpose bought for my regular 400k commutes Tauranga to Whangarei, and is perfect for it. Other than that it gets used for sports bike riding around Coro etc, and although its a big bike its a lot of fun in the tight stuff.
The ZX10 was like riding a bike on P. Mind you had $$1,000s of mods done to it poor thing, but could also commute long distance just not as comfortable as the 14. I had an RSV-R Factory, and also commuted on that but found it too uncomfortable long distance and was more designed for the fun stuff, was OK around town and could do town commuting on it OK. The SV1000 (also another bike I owned for a while) was great in all riding situations. Long commutes, short tight twisties, track, town, an excellent all round sports bike.
    Summary
Depends on which sports bike you buy. Some will fit the general bill better than others. After test owning several (oh I had a Ducati 900ss as well, and a TL1000s, all these bikes in the past two years so is recent stuff) I have happily settled for the ZX14 for my particular purpose of current riding. Ive finally come to a point that I have no idea what would ever replace the 14, so hopefully I will happily sit on this one for some time.
Interested to hear what you decide will be best for you. They are all different.

Perfection is not something you should ever attain, but something to always strive for. For if we actually achieve our idea of perfection, is it then any longer perfect?

    Fuck the cars.
Commuting in a cage would depress the hell out of me before I even got to work. After riding to work I feel less like killing the people I work with, so it's a healthy choice I feel

Hasn't this thread died a natural death yet? Any bike is for riding. All the bikes I've had the pleasure of owning have been used as everyday transport, even my old RD.

Of course they're pointless, but it's mental masturbation, innit. Lots of shiny motorcycles, which one do you like, oh my! Et cetera. All good fun when yer bored.

Beats the hell out of snide bitchfests about who was doing what on a public road.

kiwibiker is full of love, an disrespect.

My sportsbike is a ninja... Ninjas are awesome. A lazy one - hasn't flipped out and killed me... yet.

It is preferential to refrain from the utilisation of grandiose verbiage in the circumstance that your intellectualisation can be expressed using comparatively simplistic lexicological entities. (...such as the word fuck.)
