    Yes and no.

Yes a burst of acceleration may be needed at times to get out of a dangerous spot quickly, but you may also need the option to scrub your speed off again quickly too... so popping the clutch and deliberately hoisting a wheelie to "accelerate" in heavy traffic, say, may not be the smartest thing to do.

However being familiar and comfortable with a bike doing a power wheelie over a rise or the crest of a hill under hard acceleration is important too, so a rider will not freak out and do something stupid like slamming the throttle off and/or grabbing a handful of breaks.

These however are two quite different things.

Lighten up - you will enjoy it here more.
If you mean the pointless dribbling banter that fills up otherwise interesting threads, then no thanks.

Anyone that can do stunt tricks on a motorbike has my RESPECT!! Not too sure what the public view is on bikies pulling wheelies but hell if I could I'd be getting my 14 up as often as I could....eeerrr...well maybe in carefully selected instances

There is only one thing better than a 250metre long wheelie, going past cagers stuck in traffic.

That is someone doing a wheelie ALL the way along the cagers stuck in traffic... perhaps up to 5-10kms long!!!!!

    Go that rider!!

I did a stoppy while filtering, once.

It wasn't one of the good kind where you're still on the bike five seconds later, though.

Speaking for myself, I do more wheelies out when then is no one around, it's a personal satisfaction thing of balancing a 200kg bike on the back wheel with only the throttle. In saying that if someone gets some enjoyment from watching them then all the better.

Thing is right, wheelies and stoppies, while a favourite past time of mine, compares in no way with the feeling when I smoke someone through the twisties, only for them to remember I've only got one arm. (we need a one gun icon please).

    Yes I am a wanker.

Amazing how many things can still be done with only one arm, eh?

And what if one of those growingly frustrated and impatient drivers suddenly decided to slip into your empty lane just as you are coming along with your headlight pointing up in the air that they couldn't see..???

Fuck me, on one hand we're trying to present a mature and responsible attitude in order to get rid of a barrier and on the other we've got dickheads saying "there's nothing cooler than a motorcyclist wheeling past a line of cars". Make up your fucking minds. Makes me wonder whether I can be bothered on Tuesday.

In the opposite direction to the traffic? With a median barrier in between?
Or are you going to insist on the orange-cone-distributing-nazi doing his/her business before you do the wheelie (whilst wearing a fluro vest, of course)?
Please refer to the original post where this was done on the mottorveai...

Well judging by the chicken strips in your profile pic i'd say you dont get alot of lean on either. Is this because it is to dangerous?

Personally there is only one thing that lights up my face when i'm riding more than scraping my pegs, and thats seeing someone doing a wheelie.

To anyone out there that can wheelie. May your front wheel always point skyward
While you sit there liking things just cos' everyone else does, I'll be standing up here keeping it real.

This is going back awhile, but I was driving in my car out to Silverdale on state highway 1 before the new motorway. When this biker overtook me at the base of one of the hills. He turned his head around pointed 2 fingers towards his black visor as if to say watch this, and then proceeded to pull a wheelie up the entire hill and out of sight.

I have never forgotten the day as it was one of the most awesome things I have ever seen. Simply amazing.
