Best trail ride I've ever been on

was down in the gisborne area this sunday just been, waiapoa school fundraiser ride, 65k loop, mud, hills, grass, clay, forestry, river crossings, riverbeds, gravel, a couple of sightseeing spots including tarndale slip (largest in sth hemisphere) and some huge high mountain thingee giving views for as far as your eyes can focus. you name it, it had it. to top it off they put on lunch, which was worth the ride fee all by itself!

if anyone's interested ill post up when the next one is on, im also waiting to see if any photos filter thru.

Yeah I'm keen for the next one - got mates I can stay with down in Gissy and others that might be keen to come up for it from Napier. Is it going to be a regular thing?

Dunno if I can make a full 65k loop on one tank of gas though . . . after 50k's I'm normally pretty empty!

Yeah I did it on the Rm, there is a few long raod sections that you cruise down so its all good. I'd rate this ride right up there too and I'd be keen for the next one. I think that the lunch was teh best I've had at a ride (WMCC burgers a close second!!)

haha, last week wmcc lunch was a close second to last year's waiapoa ride, after sunday tho wmcc got relagated to 3rd lol.

theres a fuel ute which you meet up with a few times around the ride so fuel isnt a problem.

they ran 2 last year, and apparently there will be another one this year.

You only need two tools in life - WD-40 and Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.
And now a third thing a bloody big gun to shoot theives with!

They hide the details pretty well.
    Awesome uphill thru the pines.
Most of the Gisborne area rides are awesome, just big country.
That venison BBQ at lunch was pretty good.
