Awesome vid Deano! (cos I'm in it hahaha )

Damn you get some good lean happening on those knobly tyres

In a perfect world, I would live at the top of that hill and work would be at the bottom! I would ride home for smoko, lunch, afternoon smoko and then home. Man that would rule

Wow! Thanks for the vid Deano. You are doing bloody well on the Zongshen mate, I doubt you could squeeze much more out of her with that engine and tyres! I also didn't actually realise you were recording that stretch, so it was an added bonus to see.

Watching these videos (with music) amps you up heaps for more riding! Are we doing the loop again this Sat?! if so, I'm going to bring the KTM down to Thames in a van and then ride the loop. It was stupid and painful riding her along the motorway and Hauraki plains to get there and back.

    Cheers buddy.

Really I was riding it to the max, it was either full throttle or full brakes while full lean! Bet you weren't even going that hard!
I got back and looked at the tyres, the rear could handle more lean, but the front now has the edges rounded off the nobs.

Why the heck do ya think I was going slowish until ya went past?! I was trying to keep ya in the view of the camera.

Tell ya what, you drive down in the van and I'll come up and ride it to Thames for ya?

Good stuff mate, I'd hate to see you on a motard then! Yeah by that point in the ride I had pretty much had my frills and had pulled over to let the Ninjas and R6 go by (the roads started to straighten up too, so I lost my advantage over the sports bikes).

Actually edit that: I couldn't keep up with them on the wider sweepers and straights.

With 15 hours of ride time on the KTM under my belt now I'm sure there's far more to go in terms of learning the bike's capabilities and cornering etc. I can't speak more highly about the bike though and describe it as this:

The best fun you can have on a motorbike at legal speeds.

You mean drive to Tauranga? Well, I think you've now proven your riding abilities so I think we can work out a little test ride next time

Really?! Would be going VERY easy!

Was actually meaning I'd come up to Aucks and take it to Thames for ya. Can't be all that bad on the highway, at least you'd be cruising at 100 pretty easily. Just that g-string of a seat, leave ya feeling a bit aye.

Yep, I saw ya were stepping the back a little on some of the tighter corners, but I'm sure it won't be long and you'll be hangin it out wide.

With recommended engine rebuilds every 80-120 hours, why waste 4% of your engine's life (4 ish hours) riding on the motorway and Hauraki plains?!

I dunno what the KTM's top speed is, but at 90kph in 6th gear the engine shudders from a lack of revs. In fact, I think it's over geared and may drop a tooth in the front (I've got a spare 13 tooth front sprocket). I need to get a new motard-friendly front mud guard too cause at 100-110kph she starts lifting in front and gets a little too light in the steering.

And yeah, the seat is an absolute killer but part of the whole package I guess!

Anyway, mate thanks gain for the vid, and yeah look forward to another ride soon and hopefully seeing you on a new beast soon too!

Yep, thats under standable then, I guess if ya want the power ya got to pay for it then.

Ha, should be making those wheelies easier!

Should be next year some time, my bro was on the phone just before hassling me, apparently he wants to buy my bike now he's seen how it goe's in all my vids and reckons since he's my brother, he should get a cheap deal.
