What a tragedy on such a beautiful day. I wonder if it will be yet another case of tourists forgetting which side of the road they should be on?

Condolences to all concerned, such horrible news.

Not until motorcycles are banned or we otherwise run out of motorcyclists.

    3 dead in Canterbury...

    http://www.stuff.co.nz/4306009a10.html

    ...not good

    Here's the stuff version:

"Three motorcyclists, two males and a female, are dead after a crash between a campervan and a group of motorcycles on a straight section of State Highway 79 about 10km from Fairlie in South Canterbury.

Details of the crash early this afternoon are still sketchy but weather does not appear to have been a factor.

A fourth person, a female, has been flown to Christchurch with critical injuries.

The occupants of the campervan were not injured and are believed to be European tourists.

Police spokesman Inspector Stuart Leighton said roadblocks had been put in place around the crash site."
