Barty5 I feel sorry for you dude. I had two bike stolen last year - and after 15 years of no claims on anything, the insurance company treated me as "guilty until proven innocent" in other words they investigated me, were the bikes really stolen? Interviewed everyone involved, queired cops to make sure all the sotires lined up etc etc. Basically they though I was engaging in fraud. FFS why would I have ditched my beloved Ducati I owned from new.>!>!>!@@ it took me ages to get paid out, which they did in the end, not before I had to get stroppy wiht them though.

Anyway my point is insurance companies spend 85% of their energy looking for loop holes or ways to not pay out. Sadly this is because there are idiots out there who have ripped them off in the past. Good luck I hope it pans out for you.

With the number of offroad bike thefts, I think it's about time the cops/LTSA do something to fight this.

I reakon all offroad bikes, registered/warranted or not, should require the chassis/engine number intact (Frame and engine markings). Allow for a 6 month period to have non-chassis/engine numbered bikes marked. All off-road bikes are then in a nationwide database and can be traced.

Then the police can begin conducting random number checks.

After six months, No number = serious questioning on how the bike was obtained and no legitimate answer = criminal record database entry/confiscation.

would be a brilliant idea. something track operators could do to help also would be log all chassis numbers on entry to their venue - yes i know, time and resources, but it would definately cut down on bike theft

yeah you're probably right, but it doesn't seem to stop road bike nor car theft

heck some tossers still steal the new sports bikes that need whole new ignition barrels and assorted chips of you don't have it's 3 original keys... probably sell them as parts or don't know any better... we saw one dumbass on symonds st. trying to start one with a screwdriver in the ignition

    Thank you Robert.
I have discussed with the underwriters, Lumley, and they have agreed to accept your son’s claim. I have sought a valuation and am hopeful to have an offer of settlement to you by Friday.

Google toolbar (if you load it) has a spellcheck button as well?
