ill be going, but will be solo there and back. ill wave at bikes i see, and tack along with any i run into, but wont ride the whole way with anyone.

its a great event. i must have seen 3 "official/original" streamline covers down there. lmfao.

Me & my mates are making a south island road trip out of it, leaving auckjam on 17 nov and returning 2 dec.

I saw on the Burt Munro Challenge website that Toll are doing a special deal for interislander tickets - $73 each way, bike & rider!

I was going to be a definite, the only decision left was whether or not to take down extra sets of tyres for the beach & street racing!

...but with the new job I've got a bit of a lack of holidays. If I can earn a few days in lieu I might be a starter, It'd be great to do all the adv routes on the way down.

    Cheers
    Clint

I can tell ya after last year, all we were doing was taging along. You start meeting up with bikes all going to the same place. By the time we got to the ferry last year there were about 40odd bikes. ( take yr tie downs ) Half way down the south island, its a convoy. Bloody exciting i can tell you.

yeh.... i got into invers a day ahead of most. there was about 10-15 bikes on the ferry with me. we rolled off together, and then split up outside of picton. followed two goldwings last year, but they left me in the dust pretty quick, lol.
by the time the main bunches were arriving, i was pootling around town in my casual gear, while they were arriving in piss pouring rain, with wet weather gear covering their kit. most were bitching about having to camp in foul weather due to all accomodation being booked. lol.

zukin... i took 11 days last year, and want a bit longer this year. i need a holiday! LOL.

Does it clash with the Magpie Madness at Winchester and the Jokers motorbike show at Ashburton?
It did last year and it didn't half tick me off - can't be two places as once.
