    First trail riding injury

    well not me injured.
But yesterday me and quicker with age and another mate went on the te wera trail ride.
awesome day for it but it was a shortened day with quicker with age ( dave) breaking his wrist.
it was right at the start about 300 m from start and we wer off in a shower of shit.
we came out of a corner and gave it the berries and then i saw these guys in front of us had stopped at a little ditch for some reason.
i braked but but dave didn't see what was happening in front of me and by the time he hit the picks he was smashing into the back of me.
i stayed on the bike but he got flung into the face of the ditch as the other guys rode off.
he went to pick up his bike and realised then he was pretty sore.
we rode back to the ute and he iced it but thought it was prob a spain so me and adam went and done a quick lap of about 32 km and came back and he was worse.
we loaded up and took him into A&E there for ages got checked out and told to go straight to base hospital for surgery as he has broken the joints in the wrist.
he was operated on today for 3 hours and plated and pinned up.
    he on the mend now.
cast for 8 weeks and no riding for minimum of 3 months.
no damage to his bike and only ding in my muffler and cracked the rear fender.
first time i've been riding and had a mate injured bad enough to not be able to ride and hopefully the last.

    take it easy out there

Wow thats crazy I was there also and on the "home" part there were some mean slippery downhills and some poor kid came off right in front of me and im sure broke his wrist also I had no option but to bail also as to avoid running the kid over

I stopped and asked if he was ok he seemed to be in pain but told me to carry on anyways I got back to the car park and sure enough ten mins later heres the kid on the back of a quad nursing his wrist

I also had a shit of day though went through 5 spark plugs doing ONE lap no loops i was spewing as it was a nice trail

Bikes on ute now taking it in to get it seen too...............After getting the honda shop to "tune" it about a month ago which didnt help my anger on the day..........Damm lucky i had 5 plugs on me not many people carry that many

Oh what do you ride man so I know what to look out for even though I pay no attention to other bikes.........hahahaha prob better to tell me what you drive

Lucky enough I have yet to injure myself coming off me bike, broken a few levers and plastics tho.

Did you find out why those people had stopped in such a stupid (by the sounds of things) place?
