The first post has been updated with maps, & a link to the calendar where you can register your attendance.
Hopefully I've got it set so it doesn't automatically register everybody that looks at it like it did last time
Cheers

Cool as! Just have to work out how to carry sleeping bag etc on my DR350X, perhaps modify a pack rack to fit it? any sugestions?
Hi Mate. A pack rack is one way to do it, the easily removable Ventura setups look good, & they probably have one on the shelf for your bike, but I've seen pack racks fail more than once when they're loaded up & doing lots of bumpy roads. Adapting on an old farmbike carrier from the wreckers can often be a cheap simple way to carry some luggage too.
I prefer soft panniers as they keep the weight lower, & if you're not carrying a passenger they can sit well forward also, keeping the bike better balanced. I also like being able to swing my leg over the back of the bike when getting on. I made up some rails that follow the lines of the rear side panels on my KTM to tie the bottom of the pannier to & keep them secure & off the exhaust. Have a look in this thread for some pics & advice.
I made up some similar ones for Rosie's new Sherpa a few weeks back, pic attached below, I've also seen real basic versions of the same idea - just get a bit of steel of your choice, drill it to attach to a handy bolthole on the front of the subframe, bends as required, then drill another hole to attach to whatever you can find at the back.

Ok some framework building it is! Thanks for that! I can just see a pack rack parting company bouncing thru the scrub and overtaking me like you say!Especially as i aint soft in the rough stuff
.
Had not thought of making a frame! I was thinking panniers but..... Panniers and my mufffler and i had visions of trying to outrun the flames blasting off my own bike! That would be kind of funny... But would ruin the beer!
Must take the bike for a good run to be sure i can make the last section without towing a fuel trailer..!!

Tis done!
I am in.
Might just make it the first dry run for our Oz trip and pack all the camping gear too.
See you all at Murupara.
I may not be as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I always was.
any folk doing this event, coming from south/east/west, who want to come over friday evening to get a good start saturday morning;?; well; i can put a few up here, only 1/2 hour ride to start at murupara.
i don't want to upsurp any offers/plans that clint may have in mind..............so..............see if there is a better offer ! ! !
Not sure if I am going to do the ride yet, but thanks for offer of accomodation!
I might be up for it.
I've almost convinced the missus, just have to see about work.
I might also take up your accomodation offer Ducatijim. I'm not too fussy, a couch (or even the floor) will do me.
Cheers
