    Lucky boy

I reckon I'm a lucky boy (as he touches wood, rubs his rabbit foot while underneath a horseshoe) but I havent had a speeding ticket in ages. At least a year, more. probably only got 20 points on me.
Pay the fine, wait till the last minute then trickle feed the pricks 10$ a week.
    NEVER sell the bike.

Those things don't work on the BikerGodz - they're not at all bound by your superstitious mumbo-jumbo, but they DO like a good laugh, at your expense.
    You're fucked now for sure.
The very day after I said, "I haven't had a ticket in nearly 30 years", I got done for 132 ($300 and 40 points).
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

Admitedly 85km/hr over the limit hurts, but it didn't make me sell a bike... hell, you don't even need to appear in front of the judge, your lawyer will sort it all out for you. Or so I hear.

Tell them to buy a 2 stroke 250, worked for me... although when I was younger I 'heard about this guy' who managed to get done on one of those at 64km/h over the limit

why would you sell your motorcycle because you love kinky masturbation?

pay the fine its only money

live with the demerits, you get a clean license back after 3 months of walking

dont sell the bike, its only going to cost you more when you realise you have made a mistake and have to buy another one.

    Just curious?

My advice, pay the fine, take the points, pull your head in for a bit...(3)
It's not like you could avoid getting the demerits and having to pay the fine just because you sold your bike. If so - I wouldn't hesitate for a second... I'd sell it to a mate and buy it right back the next day.

I'll always pay my fines ASAP. However, if I would exceed 100 demerits with my most recent offence I'd stall the payment long enough that I'd get the oldest infraction off my record. However, I hope I shall never be in that situation (currently got 20 demerits for doing 114 km/h on a flat, empty and straight West Coast road September last year - now I got a radar detector).

Doesn't work like that anymore 'fraid.
Demerits are backdated to the date that you were sprung. However the demerit points don't expire till the 2 year anniversary of that date you paid the fine.

Learnt this lesson the hard way... (twice!)

So are demerits applied from the day the offence occured or from the date you admit the offence (ie pay the fine) or lose in court ?

    Makes quite a difference
    - If it applies from the day you pay the fine or lose in court then its quite smart to pay quickly as long as you wont lose your licence.

Then, if you get another ticket, your existing points will be closer to expiry.

If your new ticket would put you into loss of licence country, get your lawyer to drag the process out - you may be able to wriggle out of the existing points. ??

You certainly can't afford to lose any more demerit points.

My understanding is that you do not recive the demerits until you pay your ticket; however the demerits are still effective from the day you commited the offence (recived your ticket).
