Used to ride in jeans (from the North Shore to Newmarket), saw no harm in it, was new, didn't understand.
Wrote the bike off in March in a relatively low speed off, just minutes from home. Was wearing my bike pants - thank god cos otherwise I'd have had more than bruising.
When I'm able to get me a new bike and am able to go out riding, it will be ATGATT. But I'll definitely need to get me some draggins tho, cos bike pants in the summer are NOT nice!!!!!
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
Shit, wear what you like and run the risk - it's a personal decision. I really don't give a shit.
If I choose to risk using my arse like cheese on a cheesegrater then that is my business.
Did I say I didn't give a shit?
Jeans and cordura is fine with me. Leather is for the bedroom.... but I don't give a shit.

Most of the time, cos I'm generally only commuting to work (about 5 minutes up the road), I won't worry about gloves or riding pants. Anything furthur than 20 km, ATGATT.

It is preferential to refrain from the utilisation of grandiose verbiage in the circumstance that your intellectualisation can be expressed using comparatively simplistic lexicological entities. (...such as the word fuck.)
Remember your humanity, and forget the rest. - Joseph Rotblat
I came off not far from home, and not doing much speed either (hit an oil slick at 30km on a dizzly day). Even though I wasn't going fast from the marks on my helmet I am really glad that I do follow ATGATT because I slid 10m down the road and it wouldn't have been pretty if it wasn't for the codura. On saying that I do the draggins and leather in summer but you will never catch me in anything less. The risks are the same on a short ride as they are on a long one - isn't the statistic 90% of accidents happen 5km from home?
