    Arrrrggggggh

This is going to be because I can't find the rave section.

I can't find the radar detector posts either, so..... too bad...!!

On www.beldirect.co.uk there is a model 966r which it states is designed
    for motorcycles.

Has anyone heard of this model or have any experience with this site?

Thanks for that KIWI. They don't seem to mention the bel 966r.

It has a remote sensor for hiding which is weather proof and then a remote weather proof unit with VERY large light to be mounted where you want/will see it best.

    Sounds perfect for a bike.

www.best-radar-dectectors.com  look for the escort passport 8500 - specifically designed for Motorcycles.....and it is only $600 when shipped from the US ($1200 odd dollars here).  CK and I both bought one from the site (shipped from www.netelectronics.com) and have no problems what so ever

PS the 8500 has an audio out jack - which means you can hard wire your helmet to recieve the audio from the detector.  Jaycar do nice small flat speakers which are ideal for a helmet.  Takes about 5 minutes to make the wires and hard wire the helmet (honestly) - talk to CK!!

5 minutes once you have everything right there in front of you ready to go.... several hours to get all my crap together!

I dunno about the 8500 being designed specifically for bikes.. i think it would still be a bit susceptible to the damp weather. But for BB who keeps the bike(s.. ya bugger! ) at home in the rain, it would make perfect sense and is of course easily switched into the car.

Mine hasn't saved my arse yet (only had it 1 1/2 weeks) but it does do its  job in slowing me down  (sometimes.. )

re. performance, Svenhanne reckons the bel and escort are pretty equal having fitted both to his car.

    I used 8500. It's bloody good.
Other than that, Valentine1 is good too, as some of my mates have used.

Depending on which review you read - they are both about equal - and actually produced in the same factory I believe
