    Big thanks to the cop.....

Big thanks to the cop i met tonight. Ignoring the fact i did end up with a ticket (80 bucks) i could have been walking and down over a grand if you had wanted to be a fucktard. Your attitude was always professional throughout and i agree if i did have any alcohol on my breath i should have had the book through en at me. Also big ups to the other cop for confirming that my bike is infact a 250.

Thanks for being a choice cop

I do have one question, why did it take 3 patrol cars to give one learner biker a ticket????

They were all hoping you'd do a runner so they could get some action

You just keep telling yourself that... and hope you never have to do one!

But good guys for not doing you for your license restrictions! I'm guessing:

    1. No L-plate.
    2. Exceeding 70 km/h (slightly... )
    3. Driving after 10 pm.

$1200 and 75 demerits on top of the speeding ticket...

    Nasty!

You forgot to add the - exceeding 70 km/h - to that lot.

    Try these for starters
    AUCKLAND SPEEDOMETER SERVICES:
102 Newton Rd Newton Auck Ph (09)377-5866 Fax (09)377-5828 email: ak.speedo.smiths@actrix.gen.nz

I use them for repairing older speedos used in classic cars. They are not cheap but kow what they are doing.

How about borrowing a cycle speedo or GPS unit? Hold your speed at an indicated 100km/h for a while and compare speed to either of the above. That will at least tell you if your speedo is way out.

Check your manual for the bike and make sure you are running the right size tyre. A larger tyre will give a different reading. For example on my truck, the tyres are 2inches bigger than standard, which means the speedo reads 100km when in fact the truck is doing 115km.

Another thing, make sure the speedo cable is well lubed, may be something as simple as a stiff cable.

And bigups to the cops for being good buggers.
"I came into this game for the action, the excitement... go anywhere, travel light,... get in, get out,... wherever there's trouble, a man alone... Now they got the whole country sectioned off; you can't make a move without a form."

Paved roads are just another example of wasted tax payer dollars.
