    Never listen to the weatherman...

The weatherman said thunder and lightning.... Met up in Waihi at 10.30am for the usual loop expedition...Expecting the weather to take a turn for the worst we made our way over the first hilll... Hmmm, more sun? Yip. Rode on through to Whitianga for some lunch.. Sun there too? Yip. Ended up shooting back from Whitianga and through to Kopu for you guessed it...more sun! One of the best rides I've had in ages. Mangaged to get the chicken strips down further, got taught some nice lines courtasy of Ducati Hard and Miss Ducati Hard. Thanks heaps for dragging me out (rubber arm) guys. Awsome day. Looking forward to the next one...

Hope everyone else got there lawns mowed and their gardens weeded...

Funny, same thing happened to me today. A little bit of drizzle during the day is the most of it. Should've take the bike

    Gale force, yeah right!

Sorry not about biking but just bad forecasts.

I went fishing, out of Kawhia, last Thursday, and the MetService forecast was for 20 kts in the morning, rising to 40 kts in the afternoon = GALE WARNING!!!!
Got out and by 10.00 it rose to 2 knots and the 40 knots was, maybe 5. An awesome fishing day all around but if you'd listened to the "Official forecasts" we'd have never gone out.
These West Coast charter guys have so many trips cancelled to bad weather, it's part of their make-up. But to lose a full charter worth nearly $1500 for a forecast that was an absolute crock of $hite is so unforgiveable.

These boats have such a precarious existance they have to charge a higher rate than an East Coast boat, just to survive. I don't like paying more than I have to but these still give good value.

Never let your enemy see your emotions, for it is the one weapon they will value most.
