Likewise kickstart levers, up the trou, can make you falled down. In the middle of high street. Outside the pub at closing time.

DT360s can start perfectly well running in reverse. With subsequent consequences very amusing for the collected masses.

"Motion Sensor" m/cycle alarms will not sound, until bike is dropped at the fuel bowser, notifying all and sundry to your incompetence.

Calling out a motorcycle mechanic because your new GSX-R750 is displaying the evil FI error only to find it's your motorcycle alarm immobilising the bike...

Also, shoelace loops will inevitably find their way over the end of the gear lever, resulting in an "unrequested surplus gear-shift" when you try to put your foot down. If luck is with you it won't be from neutral into first, sans clutch, on the petrol station forecourt.

On the subject of kickstart levers, that bolt right there is *not* the gearbox oil drain plug. It is, instead, holding the other end of the kickstart lever return spring.

    Getting back to the topic:

Attempting to stop a DT250 with a stuck throttle by grabbing the spark plug lead and ripping it off is a bad idea for three reasons:

    1. Using your body to ground that much voltage will shorten your life.
    2. Your arm will remain numb for several hours.
    3. It will introduce you to the concept of pressure (diesel) ignition.

As it is not a good idea on a 650 Triumph twin. Lead in each hand, 33000 volts per coil.......

Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

If you get a false neutral, DONT change down in the confusion... change UP a gear.

Not a revelation, not DAMHIK worthy, but worth remembering if yer new.

Filling steel fuel tanks with water before welding only sometimes prevents them from exploding.

Using a wad of plasticine on top of the piston to check valve clearance is a great idea ONLY if you remember to remove it before attempting to start the bike.

There's a very good reason manufacturers don't use spring-clip joining links on cam chains.

When checking for vacuum leaks using CRC easy-start it's recommended to not get it too close to the HT lead.

The key for the impellor of an orbital oil pump is possibly the easiest thing to lose that you’re engine can’t survive more than 60 seconds without.

CRC Engine Start will cause explosions in places other than your combustion chamber (the intake manifold for example), if you use too much.
