TV programme about a biker hit by car, in 5 mins on TV1 (8pm)

It's Rapid Response, an ambulance show made in NZ.
Camera crew rides along with an ambulance for a couple of weeks.
    Not comfortable viewing perhaps, but....

I missed the start, what happened? Looked a bit like the car pulled out of the junction. Dude in question also appeared to be in jeans. Hmmm.

I caught that bit. Didn't sound like an especially happy camper either - but nothing appeared broken. He had a fairly extensive graze to his leg but ...

I was wondering. Like, part of me thinks "shit, if he's that fucked up from just a bit of a prang, I wonder what a big one's like". But something else in me thinks I did worse riding my bike when I was ten.

Mind you, that hurt like a motherfucker too.

Ever noticed how all the bike crashes shown on TV, that the rider is "going in" with the rear fully locked?
It's like they don't realise that they would have better to brake with the 90% the front gives you....

Or, is it more a case of the stuntman in the reenactment thinks a locked rear is more dramatic

IMHO road rash is - and will always be - extremely painfull... I don't think that it'll matter much how serious you roadrash is - if the skin is broken I bet the pain remains the same all the way down.

My first recollection of pain is being ~4 years old getting all excited about having an icecream at the local marina and running (all of perhaps 8 km/h) falling onto my knees as a result. I don't like road rash.
It is preferential to refrain from the utilisation of grandiose verbiage in the circumstance that your intellectualisation can be expressed using comparatively simplistic lexicological entities. (...such as the word fuck.)

I saw the snippet. Car turned across biker's path, biker went into front left guard and then head first into the top corner of windshield and roof (nice dent from his head). The bike apparently flipped over the car and it wasn't clear but maybe the biker kept flying over the car too.

The biker suffered a head injury and weeks on still couldn't remember the two days after the accident. TV show didn't mention any broken bones. Post crash interview with the biker and he said the accident wasn't going to stop him riding and he said that as bikers we have to treat other motorists as the enemy.

The guy was quite athletic and young which I think would have helped minimise the injuries.

Car that hit him was full of 'the boys' heading home after a game of touch rugby. I wonder if the driver of the car was distracted by all his mates?

Anyway, that was pretty much everything that happened

was also a bit about the driver of the car who said, he was looking at buying a motorbike but decided he would not any more.

But his view as motorcyclist have to take the aim of every car is out to hit you, and has not seen you is a good guide to live by(i follow same rule)
