Any ZX7R owners here, comments please

I have just purchased a ZX7R and would appreciate any feedback as to what other people think and any words of wisdom.

    Thanks,

    Phil

Sevens are awesome. One of my favourite sprotbikes of the last two decades, both to look at and to ride.

    A fine choice.

Make sure the carbs are cleaned, tuned and balanced.

PS - what colour is it? The factory-black ones are almost collectable now.

    PPS - Metzeler Sportec M3s.

i have always loved the zx7r, i always wanted to get own one but never got there yet.

they are heavy, long compared to more modern machine(even compared to machinany at same time), but with that it was alot stable, and a very rock solid and bike in handleing and motor was solid.

Friend has a 93 ZXR750 which cranks pretty good If the ZX7R is as good as those (and they're reputedly much better), then hell yeah I'd hit it :

Point taken about the carbs. It's Kawasaki green didn't know they did black it would be an evil looking beast I would think. Thanks for the tyre choice

My mates ridden it and it keeps up to my 929 without issues. 929 just has more grunt and about 20kg's lighter. As Cajun mentioned they seem to be heavy especially the front and takes a while to get used to the seating position. Overall I would say a great bike to collect.

Only seen one mint black one ridden by a kb member.

You wont regret it Phil. They're an awesome machine, a bit lardy but bloody stable, reliable and still look great I reckon. I owned one for a few years, got all sentimental and spent a few months writing a wiki site on the ZX7R which you will probably be interested in, check it out...

    http://www.deeknow.com/wiki/view.pl/KIndex

Lots of details about who raced them over the years in world superbikes, AMA, IOMTT etc, lots of famous names rode them at one point or another...

    Absolutely brilliant machines!

Rode 1 for a few years, although i dont have it anymore, its still my fav bike of all time.

Probably the best sounding inline 4 ever made in my opinion, good midrange, you can fit 3 containers of curry under the seat btw

Only downsides would be the sheer weight of the beast. Can get a little tiring in the tight and narrow stuff, but before you know it you will have the guns from hell. Think of it as a Chuck Norris Total Gym with wheels.

Remember to keep a 180 on the rear, no nead for a 190 apart from looks!
