Smile What do you guys think of the 2008 650 Cagiva Raptor?

    Hey there,
I'm considering buying a one of those 650 cagiva raptors?
I would appreciate your thoughts or suggestions of this particular bike, with handling, price range etc....
My old 25fiddy suzuki bandit has been so reliable but it's now due time for me to upgrade. Do hear it's ABOUT FRIGGIN TIME,LOL..
I'm only a small lady and a short ass too...5ft 4inc so my height does restrict me riding certain bikes.

They're a damn fine looking and sounding bike is about all I know about them.
The motor is the same as the Suzuki SV650, they do look nice and low for ya.

"I came into this game for the action, the excitement... go anywhere, travel light,... get in, get out,... wherever there's trouble, a man alone... Now they got the whole country sectioned off; you can't make a move without a form."

Paved roads are just another example of wasted tax payer dollars.

If you are slightly shorter the Cagiva would make a good alternative to the SV. From what I've read they did have a few issues with quality control on the earlier models, but the new ones look pretty sweet.

Plus you get a Japanese motor. Win win.

I was thinking of one, but dearer that the SV, and quite a bit heavier, I think, which turned me off. Some lovely styling touches though. Imagine if the whole thing had come from Suzuki-they would have sold boatloads!!

As Pwalo said, I have also read the quality could leave to be desired. So, especially if you are looking at a second hand model, have a good look around the bike for signs of rust. I'm no expert on this bike, but did do quite a bit of reading on it as I think they are just so sexy...

    Good Luck!

    Leaves bay?
I like the Cagiva's. Good motor, reasonable quality components, not common. Buy it and race it in Pro Twins.

Nice bike - looked at one when I was upgrading to my full. It's like the SV but with proper brakes and the forks the right way round.

Downside for me was they don't do a fully faired version.
