Hi there...Send 007XY a PM, as he has installed a charging system on his SV1000.

Awesome little addition, especially since we both have the same phone.

Oh and welcome to the Madhouse...

Erm, why would you want to charge via USB, when most phones have a cigarette lighter/accessories jack charging facility?

Because it's very versatile. Many phones do charge by USB (as the southerner said, Blackberries only do so), but USB is so widely used to supply power to devices it's worth having anyway. Was looking at installing something for my iPod for a start (at least if I ever attempt Grand Challenge). Most other MP3 players do likewise.

Install one of those cig lighter sockets (then can be used for multiple things) and buy a cig lighter USB plug - something like this http://www.jaycar.co.nz/productView....Max=&SUBCATID=

All good points. But the phone end of the cable is the easy bit. How is the other end connected to the bike's electrical system if not through an accessories jack?

So then the easiest way would be to get a cig lighter socket and wire it to the bike surely?

plus a fuse and some wire is a solution for under $10.....and the socket can be used for other accessories once installed.

    It's ok buddy

the easiest way I have found is:
    Go to member list
in the search window on the right handside type 007XY
when his name, avatar, etc comes up, click on the avatar itself, which will lead you to his personal profile.
Then scroll down til you see "send a private message to 007XY", and the rest should come to you.

I'll also send hima link to this thread, so he knows to check it out, just in case.
