Just got in from work. About 10-10.30 a guy called the NewstalkZB show hosted by Miles Davis. They were talking about the proposed boy racer loud pipes law but the subject morphed onto general traffic policing. The caller very skillfully turned the conversation onto bikes, in particular $$$ Harleys having loud pipes and getting caught up in the law and the cops u-turning and hitting bikes. He also told a funny story of a 112km/h ticket he got on the Auckland motorway from a 'new' New Zealander cop.
My non-biking work mates were suitably impressed. Some didn't even know about the u-turns but they do now.
I get the feeling the caller was a KB'r. He was a Pom, well spoken, probably from the south of England.
