Hey Pyro,
I worked as a fines collector for about 18 months, and I now work "behind the scenes" but still work in collections.
Basically you have 2 months while the fine is still with the issuing authority, once it has become overdue after those 2 months, the "infringement" is passed on to the courts, where EACH fine has $30 court costs added to it. You cannot usually make an arrangment to pay of your fines with the police. Once it has been passed with the court they will send out a NOF (notice of fine) then 30 day's later a FNOF (final . . . .) basically you need to contact the courts, which you can do by phoning the 0800 # and make an arrangement to pay your fines of. If you cant afford too much $$ a week, then ask them to do a "Statement of Means" over the phone, then all you need to do is make your living expenses slightly more than they are

, and if ya lucky you could be granted a TTP arrangement at maybe $15-$20 wk, depending on how much you earn etc.
If you dont contact the courts within 30 day's of receiving your FNOF, they will then add $100 to EACH fine and can deduct str8 from your wages or benefit etc, or they could just issue a Warrant to Seize, sure you know the rest . . .
PM if you want any advice etc.
