i knocked off 8 seconds a lap round taupo because i started hanging off. and getting knee down.

What a load of crap.... next you'll be telling us you have to use your rear brake on the track to stabilise yourself in corners and go faster. Many top class racers around the world never get their knee down, and a certain Mr Fogarty also claims to have never used his rear brake.

Now I'll read the rest of this thread with interest.

OK, whats wrong with this picture?
The riders head and shoulders are above the bars and looks to be pushing the bike into the corner, and yet his knee, umm calf, ankle etc are all firmly down!
Guess those 500GP bikes don't have much clearance, aye?

My latest ride is below

Walked away with two 2nd places and a 1st place at the Taupo spectacular and only touched my knee down 3 times, all of which were just a comfort thing to know where my body/bike was at. although i have previously had to use the knee to keep the bike upright/not crash one can ride without having to get knee down, remember knee on ground = more friction
