my baby is texas jane, from the initials on her plate [txj] tx being short for texas, and jane just cos i liked the sound.

my big girl is "drama queen" after having 3 things go wrong the day i brought her home: side cover flew off, ran out of gas and had to be rescued by my riding buddy, and then turned the lock too far, which meant the tail light was going. luckily my buddies son told me.

    Yep, all have had names.

The girl in my profile is Princess.

My old panhead was Sweety. A long legged one (22in over springers..)

In process of doing up a XV750. No name yet, but it will come to me.

May the bridges I burn light the way.

The term 'Duke' has been overutilised (and given to a range by KTM) and besides, my Ducati is a petite little thing hence it is referred to in our houshold as 'The Duchess'.

The RG150 owned by my wife is an agressive little bastard and goes "A ringdingdingdingding ding ding" so we've called it (rather predictably) Crazy Frog.

    Taking the piss

My kids are into bob the builder, so I called my truck "rumble" just to be in on the btb theme.

My mate now relentlessly takes teh piss out of me by calling my bike "thunder"

    "Did you bring thunder today?"

In the past I haven't bothered with names but more recently had a "guest namer".

I was assured that all bikes are female (which would explain a lot ).
Although T E Lawrence, a fellow of some considerable erudition, seems unaware of this. He had his Boanerges, "sons of thunder", which was certainly not inappropriate for a 1000cc V Twin.

Both names of my current steeds are of Romanian origin.
Domnitza means a young Lady. As in a young female member of the nobility.

Surioara (which I need to practice before I can pronounce it properly) refers to a little sister. It was a toss up between that and "teina" which has a similar meaning in maori, but consistency won the day.
