    Harley run

HI there guys! I’m a bloody immigrant that builds up for 5 years a Sportsty and hit the finish. It’s a old 86, 4 speed XLH saved from Port Waikato, ready now for a run .I’ve seen lots of Harleys running on Motorway and I was questioning myself why I’m not there?! What do I have to do?

mate yer best bet would be to chat the people at AMPS in Auckland or find some others on here who own HD's. That is if you are exclusively looking to ride with HD's, but if you are open to riding with all styles of cruisers then keep an eye out in this forum as there are always cruiser rides being organised.
    Cheers
    J.

PS. Nice bike there mate, good job!

People with harleys that will only ride with harleys leave me feeling discombobulated.

Join HOG if you want Harleys.

Visit bike shops and ask about clubs otherwise, or check out North Shore Cruiser Group (thats sorta Auckland area aint it?)

Dont you think that they only ride with other harleys because they are sick of all the crap that other bike rides give them. Yes I will be going with the cruiser group when I get my new bike.

In the meantime talk to Geoff at AMPS and take a look here http://www.aucklandhog.org.nz

Dunno. I feel fairly discombobulated by others who reem others for whatever bike they have.

My group was all cruisers/commuters at one point - from 250cc up to 2000cc.
Lots of us had friends with sports bikes that wanted to join up, even though it was suppose to be a cruiser group. Well now we arent, and we all have all bikes from 250 to go knows what now.. sports commuter and road warriors. Nobody hassles anyone. The people that usually would do such, are people that's opinions matter the least.

I wish I had more harley riders in my group to be honest! But they seem to stick to themselves

Now thats why you cant find others to ride with you are looking for a specific manufacturers bike ride, there certainly are some of those around but on our rides we dont give a hoot what sort of cruiser you ride, we have alsorts, (hell we even have the odd sporty come along for the cruise). Just join in on a ride, its that simple mate.

Ok let’s put it that way: any cruiser rides (cause I don’t give a rat’s ass if r HD or Suzies or Hyoasung) … with no R1 leader bike! My misses has a 400 Dragstar and has no life insurance.

On the other hand, if I’m reading all the carp that people say about the Harley’s on this forum, is hard for me to imagine a good time with them! I’m having bikes for fun, and the complete package: building, customizing, tuning, riding, grease my hands and stuff. I don’t react nice to assholes with fast and more “reliable” bikes that drip shit, and are not able to change their oil and oil filter… I don’t mean that all the bikers have to be mechanics to state their opinions, but the commune sense is a must!

But where is your own "commune sense"?

You are preaching tolerance, while expressing extreme intolerance yourself.

If you only want to ride with "your own kind", that's fine - you do that. But don't try telling us that we're the intolerant riders.

Lose the chip on the shoulder, mate - it does you no credit.
