    IS it worth modding?

well after having my little GZ in the shop for over 2 weeks and missing it dearly.. i jumped back on it and went for a ride, got me thinking about what mods could i do to this little beastie.....

    so my 2 questions are

is it worth moding as its only a 250.... could i possibly put a bigger engine in it?

and what can i do to it?
wouldnt mind getting a new pipe for a louder purr safety reasons of course! hear me before you see me

Unless you have plans to keep her forever I'm inclined to say... save yer money and put it towards your dream bike (bigger... full license type bike) then make it go faster, more comfy etc.

007XX has put some money into her 250 and I think it's well worth it personally... so I guess it's a case of what you want to be riding longer term. Put your money into that

Oh shucks... Thanks but I actually never paid for the mods, she came with them (very much the reason I bought her instead of other VTR available at the time).

I am in the same connendrum as our lovely Fireball is...I positively adore my ride, but am starting to feel she's a little "small" ( I hope she can't somehow read this! )...so I've been considering transplanting a 400 engine in and I wouldn't mind changing the lights, do a bit of a tail tidy and so on and so on...but is it worth it, if I get "the need for speed" after a couple of track days?

And then, I see a 675 Daytona... or a CBR600 ...Oh the Humanity!!!

When it comes to engine mods for more power, therein lies madness, and an infinite black hole for cash that you don't have.

Everyone goes through that stage with their 250. Just bite it back and handle the jandal. Your time will come soon enough.

For shits and giggles, you could try knocking all the baffling out of your exhaust. It's amazing how much noise you can make with a quarter-litre of combustion chamber.

Stop running the AA batteries flat, take those out, and put in a car battery...(dont forget to get an inverter) no thats not a sex toy Fireball!

Adjust ya rear shocks, depending on what kind of riding you will be doing, maybe get some black leather tassles for the handgrips a crusier style vest and a patch.

Personally I wouldnt invest coin into a 250, because when it comes to reselling it you wont get it back.

Save your coin for your next upgrade. Then personalise.

    Oh, yes. You will indeed.

Methinks ma'am needs a reassuring trip around some motorcycle shops to sit upon and appreciate some of the current lightweight cruiser offerings.

i advise you to spend as little as possible as i'm sure you'll get something bigger when your licence allows

for now perhaps gear it down for cheap performance gains, if it has the legs to fathom it

Have a look around at bigger capacity bikes and get some opinions from other people who are around the same height as you. You may find that there are a reasonable number of bikes you might want to upgrade to, or you may find that your 250 is the tool for the job and you're likely to be hanging on to it for a while.
If you decide that you are likely to hang on to it, some comfort/aesthetics modifications could be in order.
I've been spending a bit of time and money getting my new 250 set up the way I want it, because I know I'll be hanging onto it for few years.

Mod it if you want to. "Worth it" is up to you.

I have a rather modified 250 in my garage. It was fun and very flash now. A bit hard to sell though as the mods haven't helped the value it seems.
