I don't actually see anything that sinister in it. I think the Kaiwharawhara BMW site will have a Motorcycle wing with a service department staffed with qualified BMW techs.

I think BMW are starting to feel that their bikes can stand comparison with their cars. It's arguable that the two divisions used to be an uncomfortable fit, what with a mid-90s M3 being able to both out-accelerate and run away at the top end from an old-school K1200RS.

This smells more like BMW taking corporate responsibility for the bike marque.

Personally, I don't know if the VTR could be fixed on the side of the road.....

If what Motorad told me today is to be believed, then there will be no BMW bike dealer in Wellington as of Jan 08. There 'might' be a new dealership coming soon, which 'might' be in the Hutt, and which 'might' be a BMW dealership.
Maybe the flash new Motomart in Rutherford Street might be taking on BMW?

I would think its got alot to do with the whole Triumph thing...
Bit of a shame really, as they have done it for years and would have all the service tools etc. (which cost a shite load!)

If that were the case then I reckon they should let us know what is happening. Leaving loyal owners hanging in the breeze really does not sit well with VCorp. Resp. in my book.

Also, why is BMW so hard to get a hold of? Why are they hiding? Have they nothign to say? Ashamed perhaps?

Kawasaki KLR650 - stone age design but not bad for all that. Will do anything your Dakar will at a fraction of the cost
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

Latest I heard, from Motorad, was that BMW were looking to set up there own dealership. Maybe they mean Kaiwharawhara? In the meantime, Motorad have confirmed they will still be the BMW service agent, but to be honest, they now told so many porkies over the last 12 months it is hard to believe anything they say anymore.

Hmm, maybe I can take my BMW genuine clutch cable that they sold me and only lasted 87 days back there then.
