    KTM RC8 -Their latest creation...

What do ya think of this ?,although different its looks like most other sport/super bikes coming out now as they all wind tunnel their bikes and end up with the same fairing designs..

just read about it in the latest BikeRider mag and according to KTM, this 1190cc v-twin motor pumps out 155HP/120 Nm of torque(Borat says "sexy Time") and weighs a hefty 199.5kg(quite alot considering equivalent other bikes in this area) with a full tank of gas. is all i can say,and i want one

although no word on the RRP its said they want to make it "affordable" to the general public (dont we all )

:that dashboard is enough to give you one serious headache

    It's gorgeous.

Kerry at TSS is a long time Aprilia RSV fan and he's dead keen for one.

    Hell yes

Single cylinder ftw, i would be dead keen on one of those rc4 singles next year when some more moolah is in my back pocket, what do you guys think the price on the thumper would be like? 16k-18k? round the gsxr600-750 mark?

Mmmm... the RC4 does look very nice, as does the 690 Duke. They sell the 690SM for $16k so I'd say your guess would be right.

Got 6 months of rehashing the 08 models to go yet

    I think it's fucking ugly.

    And fucking sexy.

And I reckon KTM's idea of "affordable" will still be like $30k.

For that sort of cash I'd go 848 if I was getting a twin.

is it? most of the 17x kg weights of the jappa litre bikes are based on dry weight. Add the fuel and oil this sounds competitive....

    Looks the schizzle, nizzle.

    [edit:] some ball breaker tho.....

Yea i like the colour scheme really stands out amunsk all the other sport bikes.mmm yea but id say that it would still be heavier than most jap bikes even when they are fully wet .and as most companies glote about dropping even 1kg off their bike weight .....the KTM does weigh alot in that respect.

Somehow doubt the LC4 bodywork will look anything like that.
Still, I'll be having a close look when the time comes, 78hp @ 138kg is a bloody good start.

    gsxr1000 2008 model

    172 kg dry weight
    17.5 litres of fuel
    4 litres of oil
    2 litres of coolant
a litre of fork fluid all around
half a litre of brake fluid all around
(estimation here except for fuel tank and dry weight)

    so that comes to: 197kg

    interesting...

Do we really care about 3 KG's? You can skip lunch and shed that off your overall weight if you want...
