    Red Hills Road, Waimauku, Auckland

    Yes folks,

Disco Dans corner has been visited by Transit NZ. Orange/Black corner warning signs, and the outside edge has been hotmixed.

Now all it needs is another broken fairing and a left hand mirror....

    Murphy St, Wellington

Some numb nuts has laid down a 2 metre wide strip of diesel on the off ramp, changed lanes, and then laid a stripe all the way down to Featherston St.

The stripe isn't a big deal, but if it rains in the next couple of weeks, I'd avoid the Murphy St off ramp, just in case.

Just had great fun being buffeted all over the show driving over the auckland harbour bridge. In the cage.

If you're going home over the bridge tonight, or anywhere in the north for that matter, please be careful!

An update from Rider In Black. He's got no power out on the farm, so can't do it himself...
Maungakahia Road is flooded out & is impassable at this stage. Listen to the radio for all other closed roads in the area & there are quite a few of them...
Take care out there in this weather & ride safe, if you're game enough to ride in this weather;-)

Thanks Trish. Yep Power and phone back up and Mangakahia Rd open again. Still a few out here with power but. Watch the roads up this way. Still a bit of damage up here, and it will be like that way for a while. Take it easy out there and ride safe OK

I have driven from north of Kaitaia to Auckland several times between 10 July and 20 July, using SH1 and SH10. In general the roads are in remarkably good nick considering all the flooding BUT only the major fix-ups are marked with signs and cones.

There are numerous places where the edges of the roads have slumped, or where there are pot-holes or temporary patches, and they are not marked in any way. So please if you are riding on those roads, keep alert, look ahead, and give yourself a margin for error on corners.

Also the debris has often been cleared from the road surface itself but there are piles of loose dirt and logs on the shoulders, so don't cut it too fine.

    Ride safe!

What she said. Still a fair bit of mud and shit (especially where the tractors have been on the road) so not good for getting the knee down. SO TAKE IT EASY OUT THERE.

    Para Paras

    Hi All

Did the Para's today and they're in their usual pretty crappy state (good ride though) but the reason I'm posting is that there was quite a bit of stock on the roads. Just south of Kakatahi there were a lot ewes out on the road with their young uns.

    Take care.

Road works just above the Kerikeri Crossroads intersection. They have been busy on it for weeks and it is still covered in big rocks. On the road from Kawakawa to Paihia there is some road works. Bloody slippery at te moment so if your are heading this way , take care.
Too much of everything adds up to just enough
