    East Cape

Between Te Kaha and Waihau Bay (100km east of Opotiki) there are sections of new seal that still has loose metal lying on the road (hasnt been swept). It is unsigned as well.

    Coromandle west coast 29/9/07

Sections of the road connecting Coromandle town to Thames, south bound where it runs along the coast. Has a large amount of rocks and gravel in the center of the lane in 2 separate sections. Be very careful if you are south bound on that stretch.

    Behind Lake Rotorua

Behind Lake Rotorua after Hamurana township (heading away from Ngongataha) there is new seal all the way to State highway 33 intersection. Goes for around 10km, unswept and unmarked.

    SH16 - Kaukap - Wellsford

Just after the Woodcocks road and extending almost to the Glorit hall, resealing with the ridiculous peagravel. It's well signposted, but there are 'snowdrifts' of the stuff. Be aware.

Makara road in Welly has had several slips that haven't been cleared yet, one in particular, although small, has spread loose stones all over the road, directly after a blind corner.

Was a little hairy for the first time I felt the back wheel move in a different direction from where I was pointing it.

Ah well, I guess everything is a new experience at the moment.

    Wellington - Paekakariki Hill

Paekakariki Hill road as lost half the road just North of the 25km/hr corner. It's signposted quite well from the South (there is a compulsory Give Way there for Northbound traffic) but from the North you approach from a blind right hand bend and are upon the road collapse pretty quickly.

Rater than getting infringed again for "posting in wrong area"...

HENDERSON - West Auckland. THIS MORNING will be a complete load of arse biscuits in that area.

Fulton Hogan are re-sealing the Te Atatu Rd area, in the vicinity of Foodtown.
This area is a complete clusterfuck at the best of times on a Saturday, so don't go near the place in a cage, and watch out for the normal quality of road sweeping if you are on 2-wheels!

    Mangakahia (Twin Bridges) Road

Watch it if ya use Mangakahia (Twin Bridges) Rd. Lots of roadworks between Titoki (Mangakahia School) and Parakao (widening the road). Yep they are at it again (that's why it has been raining up here).

I hear of re-sealing work on the roads between Waihi & Whangamata. Take care. Will be riding there later this morning & will confirm later.
Edit: surface was fine yeterday though the work is still ongoing & its posted as a 30km/h zone.
note: watch out for Bees. the hives are close to the roads edge - I got one of the buggers in my helmet!
