    Wairarapa - Bush House Rd

One of my favourite corners has been resurfaced. Signposted at 65, it is a 90 degree constant radius corner, the first decent left hander heading south from Greytown. It is now race track smooth and so grippy that you slow a little as you hit it.

    Grind your kneesliders to atoms!

(I though it about time this thread had some good news in it)

The bridge on Harbour Rd between Hauturu and Waiharakeke suffered damage from a maintenance crane apparently. (second hand info from Operau Store).
Not sure how bad, but I guess Harbour rd is closed at some point.
Harbour rd is not the main rd into Kawhia. That is hwy31. Just means you can't go around the top of the Harbour towards Te Anga.

    Kawakawa bay - Kaiaua

Due to the wonderfully superior bitumen used on our roads, the twisty hilly section between Kawakawa bay and Kaiaua has been reduced to a slippery, treacly mess. All the chip has been ripped up and there isn't much grip.

Transit, have a virtual kick in the balls.

The Gladstone Hill Climb road (Water Tower Rd to the locals), Castlepoint Rd, and Riversdale Rd are all good training grounds for riding in the wet at the moment. The council have laid grit in places, but it hasn't hung around long. The gravel roads in the area have more grip. Heavy braking will peel the top layer of the road off in places, and a heavy throttle hand will both push the front and hang the rear out of line. Shouldn't be a problem given how youse motorcycle fellas have such mADd SkillZ and all.

Still at it there and now getting in to the twisties between Titoki and the Wairoa Bridge, so no good down there for sometime to come.

Just had a call from Zukin...he has just crossed the Napier-Taupo and has had to rescue several bikers due to the very poor weather conditions. His advice is to avoid this road at least tonight.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

It was pretty bad when we did it at the beginning of the week On Zena. I don't think I have ever been so cold as what I was when we finally reached Taupo Truck stop. Had to be peeled off the bike & was told I had Blue lips . Take it easy over there any one on a bike or even in a cage at this time.
