But we needed an update If you ride that road regularly then keep it updated.

02-03: SH6 between Blenheim and Nelson, just outside Rai Valley, they are re-sealing the road so be on the look out for lots of pea-gravel and Stevo going slow to avoid stone chips

    Ride safe out there guys

    3/03/2005:-
Mangakahia Road: Over the bridge past Mangakahia Area School in Titoki for about 1Km there is fresh pea metal (first 2 pics). 2Km after that, starting on "Fraser's Flat" there are patch repairs being done of and on for the next 4Km (next 2 pic) upto the little bridge before Jack Rd.
Mangakahia Rd just South of Parakao: Still metal lurky around the center line on 2 corners (see last 2 pics). Bloody Trucks and Cagers cut the corner, throwing verge metal onto the apex

Fu*k me, they have taken the signs down on the section over the bridge from Titoki, but this is new seal with loose pea-metal on it Fu*ken eggs. Not to worry there is a sign by the school for the new seal done just there and if you egg-naw the "Road Works Ends" before the bridge you would be right on the money. The other bits between "Fraser's Flat" and the bridge before Jack Rd is still signed and has new seal.

07-03: SH1 to CHCH: They have started resurfacing operations on 11 (yes 11) spots on the road. The first is 3 mins out of Kekerengu Point and extends for a kilometer. The next are between 50 to 100m long but arnt that bad.

30 mins out of Kekerengu CHCH side they have 2 traffic lights ast there are resurfacing operations on corners, sorry guys, no racing today or for 2 weeks.

The 3 between Hamilton and Te Awamutu has a section of it that is lots of fresh pea metal for about 1 and a half kilometers roughly 9 or 10K's out from Hamz. Had trouble keeping the milk truck on the road with that stuff.

will keep updates every wensday when I do that part of my route.

    New seal highway 25

caution on Piako bridge new seal today (large metal), this is the coat hanger shaped bridge between Waitakaruru and kopu bridge on higway 25, so if your going to do Coromandel loop this weekend watch out on the bridge.

Napier - Taupo. I understand that there is diesel on the Titiokura section. Also a truck has overturned near Glengarry spilling offal everywhere. Not good.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?
