Woodcocks road. Warkworth to sh16. Melting tar for about 5ks, Sh16 end. Surface badly broken up on some corners, particularly on one way bridges. Got tar all over the bike, even on the screen, visor and jacket

Kawakawa Bay - Kaiua Rd. at Wharekawa

Some resurfacing going on through the little residential'ish area at Wharekawa a few km's north of Kaiua.

Quite a loose chip surface, well sign posted and close to houses so you probably won't be caning it (yeah right!).

Nothing major, just a heads up to take it a little easy if you're heading that way.

Arrow Diesel On Mangamuka Gorge 4-11-05

Warning, Tank accident on the Mangamuka Gorge this morn (Froday 4-11-05). Has left diesel on it. Recommend if you are going to Kaitaia or Awanui, go via the East Coast on SH10 rather than SH1 over the Mangamuka's.

    Mangakahia (Twin Bridges) Rd Update

    Oops better update.

Mangakahia Rd between Fazers Rd and Jack Rd in the twisties (between Titoki & Parakao) North End: Finished. No signs watch out for the bits of pea-metal still on it (Last sited 08/11/05).

Mangakahia Rd just below Parakao hill on the South side: Yep, still digging the verges here to widen the road here, so look out for clumps of dirt on the road and some filling of the verges with cause metal has been done (Last sited 08/11/05).

Mangakahia Rd Treefold's Twisties: Lime down and they have started to seal. Watch the pea-metal (Last sited 06/11/05).

Mangakahia Rd between Fazers Rd and Jack Rd in the twisties (between Titoki & Parakao) North End: Fu*ken melted tar. They've put pea-metal on it BUT NO FU*KEN SIGNS, so WATCH OUT (Last sited 18/11/05).

Mangakahia Rd just below Parakao hill on the South side: Yep, still digging the verges here to widen the road here, and filling of the verges with course metal. Course Metal all over the corner on top of Parakao Hill (Last sited 18/11/05).

Mangakahia Rd Treefold's Twisties: Sealed and marked. Was signed on Monday, but might not be there now, so watch out for the pea-metal (Last sited 14/11/05).

it is a short section (less than 1k)thats is being worked on, and is rideable.

But some may care to miss this out.

    Bit of 22 missing again

small section of this fine road missing, about 300m south of 22/hetherington rd intersection, just past pothole 77a, work on second narrow bridge has caused removal of road for a shorttime, minor off road detour in place, should be sweet by next week end.

Wellsford to Mangawhai road to be sealed by xmas

Waiteitei Rd from Wellsford to Mangawhai has 3.5 km of dirt left to be sealed and will be completed by xmas.
This will eliminate 7 km of boring S.H.1 for those taking the coastal route north.

P.S. Beware! the causeway between Mangawhai Village and Mangawhai Heads
has had the speed limit reduced to 80
