Can anyone pillion me from Auckland to Huntly this evening? (Fri 21 Dec 2007)

    Thread title's self-explanatory, really.

Betty the GSX1400 will be waiting for me there from about 6pm onwards, and the traffic's going to be absolutely fucking diabolical. I had a four-wheeled ride lined up, but they've (sensibly) pulled out because they don't want to be stuck crawling along SH1 until midnight.

    So... er, yeah.

Naturally a tank of gas and a feed at BK or wherever will be on me. Not to mention my undying gratitude.

Aren't you about 700km away, anyway?

I'm only expecting about a 20% chance of someone being able to assist, but I figured I might as well ask.

(I can still get a cage ride south sometime tomorrow if need be.)

I'd ride 700k to help you.

But I'd have to put the pillion pegs back on and find my seat... I'm heading about two thirds of the way after work anyway

Well, if you'd be doing it to try and get into my pants, I can assure you that they'd probably fit about 2.7 of you.

If you manage to get your steed home tonight you could "run it in" and come show it off to us in Walkworth.....

I'd be happy to help you. Two problems:

    1. I'd miss out on the AT(F)NR. Which means you'd also have to bribe me with man-love.

    2. You'd be on the back of a VFR400

I rode up and down the Ngauranga Gorge again last night after seeing a couple of bikes on the side of the motorway before Aotea off ramp, but they were gone on the second pass. Sucky how far you have to travel to get back to the same spot. They might have expired in that time.

I like helping people. All the better if they end up being nice.

Bad mental picture of poo-catcher pants

This one time, at band camp, we had a tutor who always wore ill-fitting jeans and they sagged bad around the bottom of his butt, like they were full of crap.

I'd say he was full of crap but he was actually a very good tutor who knew his stuff. Shame about the pants.

Well, when you say 'miss out', I mean... what time could you depart Auckland?

Huntly by 6pm, back to Westgate by 7:30pm... we could have our own little mini-AT(F)NR and catch the peeps at Warkworth shortly after they arrive!

Doesn't bother me, so long as you'd be confident about your suspension remaining functional under an additional 95kg.

    Where are you?
Do you have a skid lid available?

I finish work at 5pm here in Khyberpass Road. Head south every day.

Huntly is only a short way on for me as I usually turn off at Pokeno to get home.

i'd seriously consider giving you a hand, but of 3 road legal bikes only the FXR150 is actually on the road at the moment
