Bloody beaut vid mateThose twisties are just hypnotic!!!
Green stuff coming your way.
love this road and ride it almost every second weekend, nice vid
Cool video man. The first song was good too
While you sit there liking things just cos' everyone else does, I'll be standing up here keeping it real.
I see some of my "favourite" bumps are still on 22!
Downhill left hander before it opens up on the valley approaching the bridge before the road comes off the left......... just by FFs pothole No, 134
Nice vieo mate, look like really fast roads to ride, will have to do them sometime when im up their![]()
Not at all! They can be quite tricky, actually; there's more than the usual amounts of cow shit (and actual cows -- McJim's friend hit one rather nastily) and stones and other shit on the road. Very bumpy roads, too; it seemed much bumpier when I did it, but I think the GSX1400 has much better suspension than my bike lol. There's some very tight bits, lots of ups-and-downs. Very exciting roads to ride, but frustrating sometimes, as you can never fully settle in and relax.
A couple of really nasty corners, can't remember where they are, but I remember being very surprised when cresting a road at full throttle racing crouch (about 35kph on a 250RS) to find that the road actually peeled away to the right immediately after the crest. Thanks go out to Avon.
Definitely worth it, though. Quite a different character from the Coro run.
Great video![]()
After a while you learn the intricacies of the road and you know where to position your bike to avoid the worst of them, or to launch off some of the bridges and crest for some air!, and then the road becomes more enjoyable as you aren't surprised at every corner by some bump or hole trying to throw you into the trees!
But the gravel roads down the coast are so much better.......
As xerxesdaphat pointed out, it is a very technical road with off camber corners, decreasing radius bends, cow crap, lumps bumps and dips in all the wrong places and yes, some hard braking was required directly after a hard right hander when two cows were on the road
BUT, there are awesome sweepers, nice short straights, some open ridge riding sweepers and a mixed bag of what one could aptly describe as biking Nirvana approaching the enjoyment of the Coro hill and Tairua twisties and and....
Bugga! I want to go again![]()

DB is the new Porridge. Cause most of the mods must be sucking his cock ..... Or his giving them some oral help? How else can you explain it?
Yeah great vid & even better music, go the Cars (on bikes)![]()
To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded
Nice! You got time off? I got 2 weeks from yesterday, back on deck the 7th.
You don't get to be an old dog without learning a few tricks.
