    What or WHO was this?

Driving to the WBP Christmas doo last night, down the Southern heading north, Sue and I had the very cool experience of travelling next to a bike neither of us could identify.

It was a Yamaha single, black motor, maybe an SR500. Styled like a flat tracker, it was a very small chasis. Fitted with fat tyres and VERY minimalistic. Chrome tank and an under slung "Super trap".

Rider was wearing period styley jacket and a silver puddin' bowel helmet with goggles.

If this was you, Sir, you have an extremely cool machine, one that I'd be proud to ride myself.

I'd love to know more about this bike if anyone knows of it.

    Cheers

    Jimmy

If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

I've added a link to his profile.

My first new bike was a SR500 single.

I destroyed the engine in 7,000km.
You would do it in 5.

I had an SRX6 I nicked off the Yippee for a steal, converted to a trackday machine. Slow as fuck but cool fun. Motor seemed strong enough.

Melted the oil ring. Welded it to the piston.

How many do you still see on the road?

Yeah - I liked them enough to buy one - big move up in class from the CB450, but they didn't last.

    Modern tech different story though.
That one of badcats is cool.

It could be the OWL's,but last time I saw it he had it painted a gorgeous blue.He built it as a flattracker in the '80's,(No 1 plate) and used it in Formula 3 too.Getting it back in the late '90's he rebuilt it and raced it in forgotten era, then converted it back to a street bike.It has an Omar flattrack seat, alloy TT swingarm,RD forks and a really sweet motor. He is a member of this site, but rarely looks in. I very much doubt he would wear a pudding bowl, but you can't count on him being too normal.

I liked that bike. I used to follow it home to Titahi Bay in my cage before I got borned again. Great looking and sounding single that was. It was a chat to Yippee (?) what got me thinking serious about biking again. Whatever happened to it?

I wasn't the OWL's bike,I went and saw him yesterday and it's still blue, and hasn't been out much.

Someone wasn't doing a road test on Mt Eden's CCM? I won't go back there until that bike is sold - it just screams at me to sell one of my kids. The only difficult part is which one should I sell.

Yeah, I can't stop staring at that CCM either. Gorgeous alloy tank. It's so tiny, too, that's the sort of bike I want to upgrade to but it's not exactly a large niche.

Jacket, helmet, goggles etc sound like a Japanese guy I know with the most tricked out GB500 you can imagine (basically converted to a Manx racer). He likes flat-trackers too, perhaps he's acquired a second bike, lol?
