New road system and rider behaviour

How will the new road demerit measures affect your riding. A quick poll. Personally, against all my better judgments, faced with the new demerit system I'd be more inclined to run. These new measures are designed to target young inexperienced drivers, yet we're all being targeted.

Not enough info as yet. These are still "proposals" remember.

Totally support the red-light runner issue/punishment.

+1 on the red light runners. About time. Now they need to work on cellphone use and chicks applying makeup etc. In fact its mostly chicks who use their cellphones too txting etc, in fact they should ban women driving all together.

just kidding all you blossoms out there.

I already stick fairly close to the speed limits having got the racer out of me years ago. Now I actually see the scenery. Life is good, I like life!

It's the banning of the detectors that I'm most concerned about.

I'm interested to know if they will confiscate them if they are found and if they'll use the technology that picks up that you're using one.

Yeah I don't get done enough to lose my licence so same but cheaper for me! Yay! Agree with the red light running, should have been more of a penalty ages ago. Needs to be more of a step up for repeat offenders. One DIC, not cool but a lesson. A few or onother one soon after, double the penalty or jail time?

Yea,no change for me ,im just worried about the radar detectors being banned ,if i got pulled up for speeding ,not matter the fine it would be enough to make me stop for a while but i think increased demerits is a good idea as it will slow down these bloody boy racer idiots and hit them hard (no more doing community work to work out of a fine )

    +1

I would have no reason to run with just one ticket in 15 going on 16 years riding... however last ticket to guarantee loss with average or better chance?

I can't guarantee it would not cross the mind. Not sure I would run. But faced with either way.

I usually run now.....so no real change for me.
It won't have the effect they want if it's the boi racers they're after, no-one thinks of loosing their license anyhoo, and most of 'em know they will if they're caught racing/ skidding etc.
What it will do is make it harder for those that live on the road, reps, truckies etc..... a couple of oopsies and no license/job

No change here - the chances of getting caught are exactly the same. Good move with the red light runners.

    Do you really think so?
Seeing as how most of them are driving with a suspended license or outside their licence conditions anyway I really don't think they could give two s.
